Participants should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own action and involvement. In the event of ‘Red boards’ being displayed at either Whitchurch or Mapledurham the event will be cancelled and all entry fees returned.

BOAT BUOYANCY- Competitors responsibility
Competitors must render their boats sufficiently buoyant to remain afloat and support the crew when filled with water. (See rule 5b i on page 6 of the Racing Handbook.)

Marshals will be carrying out random checks.

At this event any boat that is not compliant with the above directive will be refused entry onto the water.

BUOYANCY AIDS
These are compulsory for all paddlers ranked in Division 7, 8, 9 and GS A/B/C irrespective of the class entered. This applies across age categories and in singles and doubles. Team leaders should decide if other paddlers should wear them according to prevailing conditions.

Pangbourne Canoe Club reserves the right to make all paddlers wear buoyancy aids if conditions require it.

Team Leaders/Representatives:
Please notify the race organisers if you are supporting any paddler with specific health needs.

Please ensure your competitors READ the briefing notes even if familiar with the race, as we have had to make changes in the past at a late stage.
