All races will start and finish at the Club House (Course changes possible) Divisions 1, 2 & 3 Singles, 2,3 Doubles 12 Miles 2 Portages (1 short lap x 1 long lap) Divisions 4, 5 & 6 Singles & 4,5 & 6 Doubles 7.5 Miles 2 Portages (1 long lap) Divisions 7, 8 & 9 Singles and Doubles 4 Miles 0 Portages (1 short lap) Geoff Sanders U14 Races 2 Miles
CHECK IN:
All Divisions check in from 9.00 – 10.30.
BRIEFING ON THE DAY – Notification of new hazards will be given on the day. Course map will be displayed outside clubhouse.
ACCESS TO WATER & STARTS: Geoff Sanders U14 K2 Race 10.15am with 10.30am start. Divisions 7, 8 & 9 at 10.40am with starts from 11.00am. Divisions 6, 5,4,3,2, & 1 at 11.45am with starts from 12.00 noon. Geoff Sanders U14 K1 Races 1.30pm with 1.45pm start
PRIZES: Prize giving will take place as soon as possible after the end of racing near clubhouse.
ENTRY: Please use: entries.gbcanoemarathon.co.uk/entries system where possible FEES £10 per seat for adults £8 per seat for juniors £5 per seat Geoff Sanders U14’s. Event ticket £5 + race fee – paper ET only, so please hand in to booking in desk. Fees either cash or cheque, payable to Shropshire Paddlesport, or direct to 40-35-32 acc 51531468. Stripe facility not available at the moment.
FOOD & DRINKS: Light refreshments will be provided for all competitors after the races. Other food and drink will be available for purchase.
PARKING Car park is located about .25 mile from the clubhouse, cross the first bridge over the canal. Paddle from the bridge to clubhouse. If drop off needed use lay-by near club to unload. No parking on the roadside please. If require disabled parking then let us know and we can reserve a space in the lay-by.
RULES: The race will be run in accordance with the current BC Marathon Rules. All division 7, 8, & 9 and Geoff Sanders paddlers must wear approved buoyancy aids. All boats must have buoyancy to keep the boat and crew afloat in the event of a capsize and be fitted with a white number board. A BC event fee of £5.00 is payable as per rule 12b.
